New compact printer style

So this is pretty exciting. My first thought was having the group make one for onsite demo things, like a maker faire. Then as I kept watching, I might just want one as my daily driver. I'm both excited and bummed that they're releasing it under creative Commons instead of a ready-made kit.

That printer looks so cool! I would love to build one but the CNC milled parts is a barrier of entry for myself. The CC license does allow for commercial kits to be made as long as they include the creator logo and name. Maybe some clones will be released out of china soon that would make kits an option for us. That, or we get some CNC mills going!

That's kind of what I'm hoping for--I suspect that there will be some people churning out the CNCd parts for a little bit, and people can just acquire everything else. Then, the wave of clones will start and it'll be as easy to get as a Creality-esque one.

My only real concern about it is the upside-down head during failure modes--what happens if it starts to spaghettify? It seems like the plastic would dribble down along the print head instead of just down only the bed. What happens if the bed heater fails and the print pops off? It seems like best case would be half a print getting pushed around your x/y coordinate pulleys, and worst case is that it catches fire from the heater block.
